Leadership Essentials: Leading Change

Change is a process of altering the way in which things are done. Change is necessary to allow organisations to continue to improve and to develop their procedures and systems, as well as to respond to other influences. All organisations need to respond to both internal drivers (such as over-reliance on existing methods) and external drivers (such as a change to legislation) to achieve goals and support continuous improvement. The success of your organisation will rely on the ability of the leadership team, and consequently of all employees, to respond effectively to the need for change as a result of internal or external influences and factors.

‘Leadership Essentials: Leading Change’ provides an overview of why leading change is essential for leadership capability and includes ‘Top Tips’ on how you can become a better leader by leading change effectively.

The Essentials leaflet is supported by three Spotlights that look at aspects of leading change in more detail to help you improve your leadership skills:

  • What is Change?

  • Emotional Responses to Change
